Been getting owned by law classes. Been having fun outside of clazz though, seen:

Iron and Wine last night (yawn but ok)


I was surprised by my man's huge head 'o hair, both top and bottom. I realized last night that Sam Beam is Bob Ross with a guitar. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is a good way to put your children to sleep and yourself in the process. I am also against all ages shows now; having some teeny bopper ringing her fake bf every song to (loudly) tell him how much he is missing it (a quiet americana-ish concert) is just rediculous. Maybe I'm getting old?

Metalocalypse seems to be the direction I'm heading musically. Dethklok, albeit neo-Spinal-tap, has helped me fall in love with classic metal (pre-Atreyu et al emo crap). For those of you brave enough to forge through this awesomely ressurected music genre, I look forward to us getting blown up by 400' axes swinging from a giant stage. Go get the Dethklok album, it's a much-needed change of pace.

Res Cogitans/Res Extensa

Just ordered myself a little piece of fm3 heaven: the Buddha Machine. Honestly, if you don't have one and like creative little toys, this one will be in your top five. The group fm3 took a device used in Buddhist temples and replaced the loopable recordings with their own samples. You can play either one or two samples simultaneously, and they'll loop until the batteries die. Neato! I can see myself both falling asleep to and going mental playing with this thing. It's like an alt-ipod (if you wanna get all philosophical and boring about it). Try it out.

Once you get yours, get together and jam out!

Fall Interludes

Oh man. Well I bought some tickets recently. Quite a lot. Hope to see your face there, and if not then we probably aren't friends anymore. Hmmm.....list goes a little something like this:

-Girl Talk the day before I turn older again

-Metric, and by Metric I mean absolutely awesome and totally sweet

-Caribou because the latest album is like whoa. Plus he's just soooo cute!

-Prefuse cuz I can't refuse

I might have bought some others too, but I forget and can't spare finger power to clickie another window to check the email.

boo verizon

So I've been without an intertube connection for like a week now. Super.

There's nothing quite like packing your laptop into a bag already filled with shiat to the brim and then biking 1.3 miles uphill just to steal a bit of free wap.

Called Verizon, told them to fix it. Asked me if tuesday was good, "but we need someone at the house from 9am to 7pm. Will someone be available during that time?" Hellz no, I can't guarantee that. So I asked them to come on wednesday, which was dandy. The nice man who could barely speak discernable engrish verified about 2184 times our romantic date for wednesday.

So what happens? No folks, this is not a choose-your-own-adventure I'm afraid. I think we all know what happens next.

That's right, I answer the door--basically naked--on tuesday morning around 845am with allergy crusties clinging to my eyes. My blog's name was prophetic.

North Bowel

So north bowl is on the hit list today. Some friends are getting married and are trying it out as a reception place. Why didn't I think of a place like this when it was my turn on the marry-go-round? Gah.
